A MAN’S SEASON IN LIFE.

I was in deep thought when my brains geared towards a certain direction in my life. The mysterious and dark place is at the bottom of my mind. I could not hear the voice of my mum when she called me to help her out at the kitchen because my mind was moving deeper onto that direction. The direction of what becomes of me in some years to come. There and then, I saw my brains move as fast as Usain Bolt. The unstoppable run was so extreme that I had to cover my head with a pillow which was beside me. I couldn’t remember anything after some minutes and finally, I was back to my senses.

In fact, I was missing in my thought when I returned from that world and realized I was lying prone on my bed. The only question I asked my inner being was when is my season and time?

Do you think about the season and time of man? I do think about it, but I don’t get worried about it. Thinking is an emotionally neutral process based on logic, information, and experience whiles worrying we pre-suppose a negative outcome and get tensed up. So, to think about life is to reflect on life, and to worry about life is to burden your head over life. Do not burden yourself, but rather reflect on it. Do not worry about the circumstances, obstacles, and current situation, but let it worry about itself. What you must do is to keep calm, pray about the issue, speak to the obstacles, circumstances, unbearable situation, and have faith that things are going to work.

The season and time of man are the right moments in one’s life. The moment where everything falls in its right place and good things comes your way. I have learnt that the season of man does not happen every day but seasonal. It cannot be so because there is an accustomed moment of blessings for everyone. Since we were not born on the same day, so will our success and blessings not happen on the same day. Some one’s blessing would be in the morning; another in the afternoon and in the evening. This brings to the saying that “All hands are not equal”.  Get to understand this, the season of a man’s life is like the weather, therefore there is time for each and every one.

Let’s take for instance the two seasons in Africa that are the wet and dry season. And same applies to the western world, where we have the summer, winter, autumn, and spring. These seasons do not occur the same day or at the same time, they all have their time of occurrence.

You can attest to the fact that there is a season of rain and a season of the hot sun. Also, you can realize that the day has three dimensions which are the morning light, the hot afternoon sunlight, and the dusk where the evening sets.  These three dimensions cannot take place together and so can one not happen before the other. They all follow each other and happen at the right time. That’s the same way the seasons of men are, your blessing and another’s blessing cannot be the same and happen together.

I want to tell you that don’t murder yourself because things are not working, don’t lose hope because you think there is no way, don’t speak evil upon your life because you think everything has been destroyed, don’t belittle yourself because the right time has not come yet. Hold yourself together and know that as the seasons take time and right moments to happen, so will the season of man be like.

I always compare the season of man to the seasons of the year because a man’s success is often cyclical. All of us will experience the springs of life where everything goes our way, hence we need to live our lives with expectations that our season will be due someday and that would be your day. That day when you start flourishing and blooming in all aspects of life.

Dear reader, know that as the sun rises and sets, fall will come and the winds of change will blow in the cold winter season, but when this happens know that it is what life carries and surely your season will happen again. Don’t be moved, just keep calm and trust the process.

WHY IS IT VITAL TO EAT VEGETABLES?

It is important that one should consume a good amount of vegetables each day. At least when taking in breakfast, lunch, or supper, one should add a good amount of vegetables to the diet to give a number of nutrients to the body.

It is obvious that people eat vegetables for only nutrition sake, but rather they forget it offers protection against various diseases such as diabetes, digestive problems, obesity, heart disease and common cancers like colorectal, breast and prostate cancer. Nutrients like folate, potassium, dietary fiber, vitamin A and C, etcetera are gained when one takes in raw vegetables or savory veggies.
There are different types of vegetables in our Ghanaian market, but time will permit me to mention the usual ones Ghanaian\’s use when cooking or use in preparing salad.

The vegetables commonly grown in Ghana include tomato, onion, shallotslettuce, cucumber, okra, eggplant (garden-eggs), sweet pepper, carrots, cabbage, garlic, chili pepper, and hot pepper. These vegetables find a ready market, in all areas of the country.

Vegetables are part of plants that are consumed by humans or other animals as food. The term vegetable refers to the fresh edible portions of certain herbaceous plants (they are plants that do not have much wood and its stems are green and soft)– roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruit, or seeds.
These plant parts are either eaten fresh or prepared in a number of ways, usually as savory, rather than a sweet, dish.  There are many people who find it difficult to eat vegetables, hence they can blend the vegetables and add them to the stew, soup, or anything they prepare.
Some Ghanaian foods that can be eaten with vegetables include, waakye, bread, egg, rice and stew, fried rice, Jollof, kenkey or banku with fried fish, etc.
According to Encyclopaedia Britannica, all vegetables are rich in dietary fiber and antioxidants. Vegetables that are loaded with antioxidants and other beneficial plant compounds help fight free radicals that damage cells. Diets rich in antioxidants are often linked to slower aging and a lower risk of diseases.
They are good sources of minerals, specifically calcium and iron, and vitamins, mainly A and C. Fresh vegetables have fewer calories and have a water content in excess of 70 percent, with only about 3.5 percent protein and less than 1 percent fat.
Vegetables provide nutrients vital for health, maintenance of the human body, and nutrients vital for the human skin. The nutrient one gains from the intake of vegetables helps in the reduction of contradicting some chronic diseases.

NUTRIENTS IN VEGETABLES

  • Most vegetables are naturally low in fat, calories, and cholesterol. Diets that contain calories and cholesterol are sauces and seasonings.
  • Vegetables are important sources of many nutrients, like potassium, dietary fiber, folic acid, vitamin A, and C.
  • Foods that are rich in potassium may help to maintain healthy blood pressure. Vegetable sources of potassium include sweet potatoes, tomato products (paste, sauce, and juice), soybeans, spinach, white potatoes, and kidney beans
  • Dietary fiber from vegetables, as part of an overall healthy diet, helps reduce blood cholesterol levels and may lower risk of heart diseases
  • Fiber is important for proper bowel function and helps reduce constipation and diverticulosis. Fibre- containing foods such as vegetables help provide a feeling of fullness with fewer calories.
  • Folic acid helps the body form red blood cells. Women of childbearing age who may become pregnant should consume adequate folate from foods and in addition 400mcg of synthetic folic acid from fortified foods or supplements. This prevents neural tube defects, spina bifida, and anencephaly during fetal development.
  • Vitamin A keeps the eyes and skin healthy and helps to protect against infections
  • Vitamin C helps heal cuts and wounds and keeps teeth and gums healthy. Vitamin C aids in iron absorption.

HEALTH BENEFITS

  • Adding vegetables to food helps increase the intake of fiber and potassium, which are important nutrients to the body.
  • Eating diets rich in some veggies may protect the body against certain types of cancers.
  • Eating a healthy diet rich in vegetables may reduce the risk of heart disease, including heart attack and stroke.
  • Eating foods such as vegetables that are lower in calories per cup instead of some other higher-calorie food may be useful in helping to lower calorie intake.

LIFE JOURNEY

Life is the construction of activities in one’s world. One can also say, “Life is the aspect of existence that processes, acts, reacts, evaluates, and evolves through growth that is reproduction and metabolism.\”

It comes with struggle, bravery, disappointment, success, failure, wins, development, life lesson, and many more. To make life beautiful or sorrowful is the decision of oneself because your choice today will give you your result tomorrow. Now ask yourself, how do you want to make your life?

The creator, God has already created and placed every unique thing man needs down for us. He has before now planned your life and packaged your beneficial factors already. From the genesis to the revelation of your life has been laid down waiting for the right time and seasons for accomplishment and it is up to you to make all plans laid down reality. This world comes with a lot of happening we never have an idea of. It comes with both positive and negative happening, but it is up to you to have more optimism in your life.

Most times we live our lives anyhow and forget about those whose lives are connected to us. I mean we need to be mindful of the kind of life we live because others’ lives are connected to ours, therefore their life needs to be a blessing too. Our life needs to be a blessing to others, full of God’s manifestation and glorification.

When purpose on earth is accomplished, the purpose of others is accomplished. Our lives are linked to others for the reason that our increase is in other’s life packages. That is why we cannot be blessed on our own unless there is a helping hand and that hand is someone somewhere helping you to achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself. Indeed, we become blessed for others to be blessed and we increase to help others increase. It could be someone you do not know, someone you just met, someone you’ve met already, or someone you will be meeting in life.

Suppose that your life is connected to someone who is your life helper and your lifesaver does not have a complete life, how will they also have the eagerness to bless your life and make your dreams a reality? Have you thought of that! The answer to your question is you need to pray for your helpers whether you know them or not. But ask yourself again, if NO, will your life be a blessing? Think about that.

The ABC of life starts when a child is born to the earth, has no idea of how life could be and which kind of world he or she is placed in. Not realizing which kind of world, he or she is connoting to shows how low his understanding of how life works are.

Growing from the ages of 1 to 7 years makes you identify your family, parent, people living in society, religion, and nationality. A child in this age range is ignorant and lackadaisical about life. Not having an idea of how frustrating and disturbing life could be when you start facing the reality of life, which is called “Abrabo” in the Akan language.
Life is never on a silver platter; it isn’t easy as you see it to be.

People presume that rich men do not suffer in life, but my dear reader, that is not how it looks like. They go through a lot before they make it in life and enjoy the profits after the sufferings. See life to be a great struggle with disappointment, success, failure, joy, sorrow, happiness, obstacles, improvement, development, etc. Through all this, one comes to learn so many lessons in life and finds a suitable way to address such issues the next time. The above mentioned has its time of happening, thus there is time for each of them.

Realization and upright start from the teenage to more years on earth. Here he or she is concerned with the kind of life which will be worth living. And that level comes with pressure and struggle because one is certain of what to decide for life or is uncertain of what to decide for life i.e. the kind of person he wants to be.

In my research, I came to a consensus that an enormous number of people in Africa are confused about which life they want to live, their passion, profession, and decision. Most of them live a life dictated for, they have no say in the kind of school they want to go, the kind of person they want to marry, etc. Their lives are always infringed upon, they have less opportunity to choose what they want and what they love to have best. That is why the majority of people work without having the zeal for it. They decide and do anything that will fetch them money than what they were born for. Yes, most people do things because of the income they are going to get and not the impact it is going to have on others.

Just know that life is not as you see it to be, there are more to the life we live in and more of positive vibes when Jesus is the epicenter of your life’s journey.

Believe in yourself, do what you love doing best, be happy about your life, be positive no matter the situation you are in now, love one another and support if you have the capacity to do so,  but remember this one thing “ don’t live your life as if you own your life, but rather live and keep it at the back of your mind that when you mess up with your life, you’ve messed up someone’s life too because you are the source of someone’s breakthrough.\” Be happy and joyful because you have a life!

DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS BEACH?

I am at the Bola beach behind the Independence Square having fun with friends and seeing other people enjoying with families as well. The beach behind the Independence Square of Ghana is popularly known as the Bola beach. I know you are wondering why the name of this beach is \”BOLA BEACH\”. Dear friend, don\’t be marveled, I got your back. In the akan language, when one says \”bola,\” one is referring to the refuse dump or something filthy. Therefore the beach was named \”bola\” because of it filthy environment. But I bet you, this beach is an amazing place to be on the early hours of Saturday morning before the sun rises. I strongly believe that the name of the beach can be changed when we stop dumping rubbish into the sea or stop dropping rubbish when we go to the beach side and this should happen everywhere.

The pictures below will show you more activities people perform when they visit the Bola beach. The first picture shows a man with his children moving towards the sea shore. You can never go to Bola beach without seeing a single person there because, it connects to James Town, Accra.

I see numerous people with each group accomplishing their motive for coming. Here is a picture of a horseman searching for a horse rider for a service. These horse men usually charge 5 cedis for a ride. Have you ever sat on a horse? Try it one day if you have not experienced that enjoyable moment. The horse takes you everywhere till you are tired before you get off the horse.

Talking about the motive of people at the beach side, have a glance of someone having great fun with his bicycle at the beach side. Again, see a picture of others jogging with friends and families at the seashore. This is a beautiful experience you could try one day in the early morning  or hot afternoon to strengthen your joints and build your abs. Whiles some underage boys are playing with the sea sand and shells in the sand, others are also diving in the sea and having great fun in the sea water. Let have a look at some pictures of the beach;

These are great beach experiences you could also enjoy with friends and families and not leaving out the write your lover’s name in the center of a big heart drawn in the sand. Be a beach lover.
